Aled Edwards, ALCM,LLGM, Perf. Dip.

Aled  was born in Caernarfon and educated in Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St. Asaph.  After graduating in Performance ALCM,LLGM, Perf. Dip. he studied music at the University College Bangor.  He comes from a family musical tradition, his father having won the Blue Ribbon in the National Eisteddfod.  Aled himself has been a successful competitor in many a local and Urdd eisteddfod.  He is frequently called upon to adjudicate at a local and county level.

At an early age he became the accompanist for the Flint Male Voice Choir and subsequently their deputy conductor. In addition he has been the accompanist for many other choirs and since February 2010 he has taken over as the conductor of Côr Meibion Colwyn.  Amongst his main interests are the art of composing and teaching his children, James and Manon to sing.  They have both been highly successful in local and national eisteddfodau.

One of his compositions, “Fy Mhlentyn” has been published following the success of the piece in the Côr Cymru competition.  The Cantorion are introducing this beauftiful piece to their repertoire at present.

Aled is now at the helm of Cantorion Colin Jones as their conductor and is looking forward to a rewarding future with the choir.
